Politically David and I have always been a house divided with me being much more liberal democratic leaning and David being heels dug in conservative republican, well let us share that change really is coming!!!
In the past few weeks he has been appointed the 133rd Democratic Precinct Committeeman (formerly known as Precinct Captain). The 133rd Precinct is in Lake County and has a population of about 4000 residents. Currently we know that about 1000 voted in the last election, so the big task at hand is to determine who can be register and then inspired to vote! Lake County is a very red County traditionally so my Obama-ican has his work cut out for him, thank goodness he has a Precinct Wench who knows the lingo .. LOL!
Last night David completed his Deputy Registrar training and was sworn in and appointed as a State of Illinois Deputy Registrar. So if you are not currently registered to vote in Illinois and can legally do so David is your man!!
We have both been working the Eighth District Democrats and Independents booth at the Lake County Fair and really enjoying talking with people about how politics impact their lives. It is interesting and in some moments inspiring to hear what people have to say about the state of our union.
For across the aisle friends and family .. rest easy we are right down the aisle from the 8th District Republicans booth so there is indeed balance and debate. We are in Building One at the Lake County Fair Grounds if you want to visit! David is working tonight from 7 to 10pm.
I am off on a different adventure tonight attending a Platform Committee Meeting for the National Democratic Platform for the up coming National Convention in Denver. If you have anything you want the DNC to know get me a message today and I will see how effective my voice really is ... :)!
Democrat, Republican or Independent where ever you lean or dig your heels in get involved!! If your unsure how to take the first steps call us .. well help you off the starting blocks!
